Relic

Relic is a blend of sculpture and painting—a tactile, responsive object that illuminates upon touch.

Installation, Creative Coding

2024

In the vast landscape of intergalactic exploration, the manipulation of timescales might soon become a tangible prospect. Relic serves as a striking visual manifestation, resembling a fossilized plaque not rooted in the past but projecting an intriguing vision from the future.

The setup involves a Force Resistive Sensor connected to an Arduino, programmed to gather pressure data from the 3D-printed bone. These data points are then used to activate LEDs mounted within the bone at specific angles. The bone itself is 3D printed using a flexible translucent material, TPU, enabling light to permeate through it and create a glowing effect, offering an interactive feedback loop.
