The Pee Project
A generative program that visualizes my daily patterns of water intake and urination.

The challenge for this project was to document a ritual or practice and then visualise it in any format. I selected one of my most routine activities—drinking water and urination—for analysis. I recorded the time at which I consumed water, noting the number of gulps per instance, as well as the frequency and duration (in seconds) of each urination event.
Using this dataset, I synchronized my daily routine with an audio timeline in GarageBand. I created a sound composition where each instance of drinking water was represented by recorded gulping sounds, with the number of gulps correlating to the volume consumed. Similarly, I recorded the sound of urination and incorporated this audio at each occurrence, shaping it into a musical piece. The third phase involved visualizing the sound data.
I used Max MSP to translate the audio into a 3D environment, mapping the sound onto a disc. The disc's surface displayed wave amplitudes, creating a dynamic visual representation of the sound data.
