Creative Technology

Shozab's vision is to design machines that breathe, exhibit flexibility, mimic organic traits, and bear the potential to become integral components of the organic  world. He calls these machines "Low Resolution Beings."

His goal is to create surfaces, objects, spaces, and experiences that bridge the gap between the organic and the synthetic.

This section features interactive surfaces, objects, tools, and experiences that explore the intimate convergence between humans and machines.

These projects encompass computational design, creative coding, fabrication, interaction, sensor technology, and light and sound design.

Projects

Embrace is a 360-degree envelope, a tactile canvas that responds to touch by generating sound when touched. It is a testament to the intimacy humans and machines have that we tend to ignore.

An interactive machine that allows one to use their hand gestures mid air to manipulate a visual. The idea of crafting beings out of thin air as a possibility in the future.

Membrane is a thin, skin-like latex film whose appearance changes based on the tension it feels when pushed inwards. It's inspired by the behaviour of cephalopods.

A collection of projects I’ve worked on, some still in progress and others created just for fun.

Transhumanism

Transhumanism is a series of abstract illustrations in my daily practice that aim to depict the visceral state of matter, whether organic, synthetic, or a fusion of both. These illustrations serve as a seed for the visual language in my machines.

In these visualizations, Shozab merges the abstract realms of blood, flesh, bones, and guts with gears, metallic panels, wires, and synthetic materials. It records the physical juxtaposition of the organic and artificial forms, humans and machines. These illustrations will adapt as the relationship between the human and the machine evolves.

"The abstract nature of these illustrations enables me to adopt an unconstrained and flexible approach to envisioning the future. My work delves into speculative themes, where literal forms of communication often fail to capture the nuances of an unseen future."
